Great Eastern Scholarship 2014 Details

Great Eastern Supremacy Scholarship Award is one of the leading programmes in the insurance industry. Every year since 1998, we have been the platform to almost a hundred deserving, talented, young Malaysian to acquire their dreams. The total amount of scholarship offered by Great Eastern Life to date is over RM7.9 million to 117 recipients. They dared to dream, to be different, and took the lead in realizing those dreams. In addition to that, this is also our way of nurturing the best talents for our company's future leaders.

Here, we do not just provide great career opportunities for people; we also nurture, care and develop them from young - even before they begin their journey towards success.

1. Local Scholarship

Eligibility

• Malaysian citizens
• Attending or obtained confirmed/conditional entry into admission to the local public or private universities for approved courses of study
• Outstanding or Good STPM results, A Levels, UEC, SAM, CPU, Matriculation, Diploma or its equivalent
• Applicants to be considered from local private universities must have completed their matriculation or the first year in their degree programme
• Active member of any sports & extra curricular activities

• Award holders must not be bonded to or holding any other scholarships or receiving financial assistance from any other institutions or organizations.
• Contract/Bond period Upon Graduation : 3 years

2. Overseas Scholarship

Eligibility

• Malaysian citizens
• Attending or obtained confirmed/conditional entry into Recognised overseas universities
• Outstanding or Good STPM results, A Levels, UEC, SAM, CPU, Matriculation, Diploma or its equivalent
• Provisional offer of scholarship will be made subject to the confirmation of acceptance by the abovementioned educational institutions.
• Active member of any sports & extra curricular activities

• RM100,000 per academic year

Tenure of scholarship

• Minimum period required by the University to complete course of study

The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: Asia Pacific Details

Recipients of the Google Anita Borg Scholarship: Asia Pacific will receive a scholarship amount specific to their local region in respect to tuition. A group of female undergraduate and graduate students will be chosen from the applicant pool across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and India. Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate's academic background and demonstrated leadership. All scholarship recipients will be invited to attend an annual Google scholars’ retreat in a Google office in Asia Pacific in 2014.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for this scholarship is as follows :

• Be a female student enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate study in the 2015 academic year.
• Be enrolled in a university in Asia Pacific, excluding Greater China* where we have an additional scholars’ retreat in China Mainland. Citizens, permanent residents, and international students are eligible to apply.
• Be majoring in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science.

Yayasan Sime Darby Scholarship - Undergraduate (Local) 2014 Details

Yayasan Sime Darby invites qualified students who are in the first semester of their first year and students who will commence their undergraduate programme in September 2014 to apply for education sponsorship to pursue undergraduate studies at recognized Malaysian universities approved by YSD.

We are looking for well-rounded Malaysian candidates who have attained excellent academic achievement, demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and potential and who devote time to make an impact to the community through their extra-curricular activities.

Eligibility

1. Malaysian
2. Aged 25 years old or below
3. Total monthly gross household income of RM10,000
4. Active participation in extra-curricular activities, sporting event and community service
5. Strong leadership qualities through various leadership positions held in school and societies
6. Good communication skills'

Important note:

Students below are eligible to apply for the scholarship:

• Completed their foundation/ matriculation/ diploma programme OR
• Currently applying or has received an offer letter from local universities OR
• Currently in 1st semester (diploma/degree) in local universities recognized by YSD

Minimum Academic Requirements

STPM (minimum 3A); or Pre-University/ Foundation/ Local Matriculation/ Diploma (minimum CGPA of at least 3.50); or 3A’s for A-Level programme.  Previous academic achievements will be taken into consideration.

Value of Scholarship

• Full scholarship covers tuition fees, board and lodging, books allowance and computer allowance.
• Recipients of scholarship will have the opportunity to undergo Scholars Development Programme and experience work exposure through internship within the Sime Darby Group of Companies.

Note: The scholarship will only cover expenses incurred after the award to recipients (i.e. upon execution of the scholarship agreement).

Service Bond Period

On completion of studies, scholars will be required to serve Sime Darby Group of Companies for 2 to 4 years, depending on the duration and value of the award.

Yayasan Sime Darby invites qualified SPM 2013 leavers to apply for education sponsorship to pursue foundation studies locally.

We are looking for well-rounded Malaysian candidates who have attained excellent academic achievement, demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and potential and who devote time to make an impact to the community through their extra-curricular activities.

Recipients of this scholarship will be sponsored to pursue foundation studies locally to prepare themselves for undergraduate admission at top universities in the United Kingdom.

Pre-University scholars would be given priority for Yayasan Sime Darby Undergraduate Scholarship (Overseas) upon meeting the qualifying criteria after completion of their foundation studies. The continuation of the degree programme is at the sole discretion of Yayasan Sime Darby.

2. Aged 18 years old or below

IJM Scholarship 2014 Details

IJM Scholarship Award is offered to develop, nurture and raise excellent talented Malaysians of the future. Through this award, financially needy Malaysians are given the opportunity to develop their full potential, fulfill their aspiration and contribute towards the nation’s development.

Eligibility

• Malaysian citizen, aged 21 years and below
• Must be waiting for admission or already admitted to pursue a full-time degree course in a local university
• Must have achieved a minimum of 5As in SPM/O-Level and minimum of 3As in STPM/ALevel or equivalent whichever is applicable
• Good command of English, both written and verbal
• Active in sports and extra-curricular activities
